The Idaho flag was adopted officially on March 12, 1907, but some slight changes were made in 1957. It is based on the First Idaho Infantry’s flag that was carried into battle during the Spanish-American War in 1899.
The banner is set on a blue background. The state’s seal is depicted in the middle, below which the words “State of Idaho” are written out on a gold and red banner. Some of the designs depicted in the Idaho flag are wildlife, mines, forests, and agricultural land.
