The Grenada coat of arms features a central shield that is supported by an armadillo and a Grenada Dove. A corn stalk is located behind the armadillo and a banana tree is located behind the dove. A banner at the bottom of the Grenada coat of arms reads “Ever conscious of God we aspire, build and advance as one people”, which is the national motto.
The shield on the Grenada coat of arms is divided into four parts by a yellow cross, which features Columbus’ Santa Maria in the middle. The upper left and lower right sections feature a golden lion on a red background (an English insignia). The other two sections show a water lily coming out of a crescent moon. The Grenada coat of arms was adopted in 1974.
