The Botswana flag consists of three horizontal bars. The outer bars are larger and are blue. The inner bar is thinner and is black, but is also surrounded by two think white stripes. The ratio is 3:5.

The Botswana flag was adopted on September 30, 1966. The blue stands for rain and water. The white and black represent racial harmony, as well as the Zebra, which is featured on the nation’s coat of arms.

The capital city and largest city is Gaborone. The national motto is “Pula”. The national anthem is titled “Blessed Be This Noble Land”. The Kwanza is used as the currency.
